Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), and child development worker (ECE level 2)

- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by storytelling, reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to order supplies and equipment necessary for childcare activities
- The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that foster children’s development
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records of children’s progress and activities
- The candidates should be able to engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
- The candidates should be able to provide opportunities for children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, as well as prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings, establish guidelines for behavior among children, and assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discussing progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, including planning and organizing activities for school-age children in childcare programs before and after regular school hours
