Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have a relevant degree or diploma in an Environmental field such as Science, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Environmental Science/Resource & Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field
Experience: Candidates should have experience with spill response and mitigation
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have working and/or theoretical knowledge of effluent release provincial and federal requirements
- The candidates should be self-starters who can anticipate needs and work independently
- The candidates should be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including oral/written communication and presentation, and a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner
- The candidates should have proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent English oral and written communication skills
- The candidates should have ability to speak French will be considered an asset
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform site inspections (exploration drills, mill, septic, tailings infrastructure, hazardous waste, waste sorting facilities) to ensure compliance with environmental standards
- The candidates should be able to conduct field work (surface water sampling, groundwater sampling/monitoring, data downloads, biological monitoring, and other as assigned) on-site as well as off-site at some remote locations using a variety of equipment
- The candidates should be able to support the writing of various internal and external reports and procedures
- The candidates should be able to present training material to all employees on environmental policies and procedures, ensuring all new workers receive the proper training so that they can contribute to the site’s environmental performance
- The candidates should be able to interpret water quality data and conduct data entry
- The candidates should be able to respond to environmental emergencies and incidents
- The candidates should be able to work independently and as a team member
- The candidates should be able to safely operate a variety of equipment such as telehandlers, snowmachines, quads, boats, etc
- The candidates should be able to perform calibration and maintenance on environmental monitoring equipment
