Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of field experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of any employment offer, with the responsibility to obtain any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract and possess an Interprovincial Journeyman Millwright license or Red Seal
  • The candidates should possess a Tag1 Gas license, Halocarbure Gas license, and Refrigeration license CCQ
  • The candidates should have knowledge of building mechanics, hangar door systems, control systems, BMS systems (Trane/Siemens), mechanical system operation, MIG welding, and CMMS
  • The candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills and be detail-oriented basic computer knowledge, including Word, Excel, email, and internet usage
  • The candidates should meet Air Canada medical standards, including passing a medical evaluation and a drug and alcohol test, ensuring they are free of intoxicating substances
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations based on the work location, following Transport Canada regulations and hold a 5th Class Power Engineer ticket as part of the probation period

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform preventative maintenance and servicing on building-related mechanical equipment
  • The candidates should be able to investigate and troubleshoot faulty hangar doors, overhead doors, fire doors, and related systems
  • The candidates should be able to install, maintain, repair, dismantle, and reassemble machinery and use welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools as necessary for maintenance and repairs
  • The candidates should be able to perform minor repairs, including the replacement of gearboxes, sprockets, chains, and door panels
  • The candidates should be able to conduct visual inspections of buildings to ensure compliance with Building Code standards
  • The candidates should be able to perform repairs and maintenance on HVAC units and ensure all work is completed safely and complies with applicable industry standards
  • The candidates should be able to perform other facility-related duties and work as part of a team while demonstrating the ability to work independently and self-direct tasks
  • The candidates should be able to work effectively under pressure and work shifts, including weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation
