Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Trip recorder (on-board computer)
Equipment and machinery experience: Flatbed, Tractor-trailer
Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone, Hard hat
Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate
Security and safety: Valid passport, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test, Medical exam

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should have attention to detail, be able to handle heavy loads, and manage a large workload
• The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required, be physically capable of demanding tasks, and perform repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be capable of handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills
• The candidates should exhibit flexibility and demonstrate good judgment
• The candidates should be organized and hardworking
• The candidates should have patience

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
• International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, and have mountain driving expertise
• The candidates should be able to arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations, and load and unload goods
• The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, perform brake adjustments, and conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle
• The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption, and tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo
• The candidates should be able to transport and handle dangerous goods
