Birnam Orchards Ltd. based in Arkona, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Fruit farm labourer. Birnam Orchards Ltd. is a family owned and operated farm in southwestern Ontario, dedicated to bringing you the freshest locally grown produce in season since 1985. We own 140 acres of apples, 5.5 acres of fresh market peaches and 2.5 acres of plums and a large assortment of vegetables and also sell them to the local market. We are known to provide satisfaction to our customers, that they don’t have to go to any one else after getting the best services from us. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $15.50 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week

Work site environment: Candidates should work in fruit and vegetable combination farming, outdoors and at heights
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Type of crops: Apples and Orchard fruit
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, able to distinguish between colours, stand for extended periods and also for bending, crouching, kneeling
- The candidate should be physically strong
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able for fruit trees training
- The candidate should be able to hand harvest vegetables, weed, prune and trim trees and plants and also hoe and harvest crops
