Transportation information: The candidates should have valid driver’s license
Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: The candidates should have clear criminal records
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination, and be able to distinguish between colours
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate, client focus, dependable, organized, initiative, flexible, reliable, and judgmental
- The candidate should have excellent oral communication, efficient interpersonal skills and awareness, be able to work as a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supply and empty bed pans, take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse
- The candidates should be able to serve meal trays and feed patients, weigh, lift, turn and position patients, make beds and maintain patients’ rooms
- The candidates should be able to supervise patients’ exercise routines, maintain inventory of supplies, bathe, dress and groom patients
- The candidates should be able to transport patients between care facilities, transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
- The candidates should be able to answer call signals
- The candidates should be able to accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
- The candidates should be able to administer first aid in emergency situations
