Salary: $35.00 to $45.00 hourly for 50 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent employment
Location: Concord, ON
Shifts: Day, On Call and Early Morning
Work setting: Various locations, in shop and on-site customer service
Work site environment: Candidates should work in outdoors, dusty and noisy place
Security and safety: Driving record should checked (abstract) and driver’s validity licence should checked
Transportation/travel information: Own transportation required, vehicle supplied by employer and valid driver’s licence required
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Own tools/equipment: Candidates should have tools and steel-toed safety boots
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications of Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates need experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T) and Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work overtime, pay attention to detail, handle heavy loads
manually dexter, stand for extended periods and also for sound discrimination, bending, crouching, kneeling - The candidate should be physically strong and also have hand-eye co-ordination
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment
- The candidate should be someone who can judge, dependable, reliable and also a team player
- The candidate should have specialization on diesel engine repair like fuel injection system, exhaust system, cooling system, air conditioning system, lubrication system, engine control system, major internal engine repairs or overhaul and also installation and alignment of engines and machinery
- The candidate should have specialization on powered equipment repair like cable-operated working attachments, hydraulic-operated working attachments, compressors, pumps, telescopic ladder, electric generators and also industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts
- The candidate should have specialization on mechanical maintenance and repair like mechanical transmissions, drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, highway vehicle tires and wheels, off-road vehicle tires and wheels, differentials and also brake system
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required, test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications and also verify and repair emission control systems
- The candidate should be able to adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, keep maintenance reports and documentation, welding experience and also service attachments and working tools
- The candidate should be able to clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work and also perform repair work on heavy trucks
