Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Less than 50 beds, Less than 50 rooms, Relocation costs covered by employer, and Hotel, motel, resort
Supervision: 3-4 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to meet tight deadlines
  • The candidates should pay attention to detail and be prepared for a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as standing for extended periods
  • The candidates should handle large workloads efficiently and be able to work under pressure
  • The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and be prepared for physically demanding work, including being able to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed

  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and exhibit excellent oral communication, as well as demonstrate excellent written communication

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to establish and implement operational procedures for the housekeeping department, select and purchase equipment and supplies, and plan and coordinate activities of housekeeping supervisors and crews
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate inspections of assigned areas, supervise staff, and ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met
  • The candidates should be able to supervise maintenance and repair services, coordinate maintenance and repair services, and conduct performance evaluations and appraisals
  • The candidates should be able to maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and uniforms, coordinate in-house laundry services, and schedule and assign duties of housekeeping staff
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that local health and sanitation regulations are carried out, respond to complaints of guests, and address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • The candidates should be able to wash windows, walls, and ceilings, vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture, and stock the linen closet
  • The candidates should be able to pick up debris and empty trash containers, handle and report lost and found items, and dust furniture
  • The candidates should be able to distribute clean towels and toiletries, attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies or other items, and make beds and change sheets
  • The candidates should be able to clean and disinfect elevators, clean changing rooms and showers, and clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
