Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have any previous course in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care would be a significant asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work a flexible schedule, including various hours and shifts such as days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively in French
  • The candidates should be registered with the provincial Practical Nursing regulatory body
  • The candidates should possess a valid CPR & First Aid Certification
  • The candidates should have a clear criminal record, with vulnerable sector screening conducted upon hire
  • The candidates should have previous working experience with the elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment is considered an asset
  • The candidates should have a passion for the healthcare sector and a commitment to ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document, and direct resident needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences, and internal staff
  • They should provide leadership to health services staff and oversee the provision of quality health services, respecting the resident’s right to individualized planning of health services
  • The candidate should promote communication and compliance to policies and Working with the existing management and health services teams
  • The candidate should be able to administer and record prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice
  • They candidate should maintain the standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting
  • The candidate should apply dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy
  • They candidate should assist with the supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other health care staff
