Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have training and experience in metal repair and fabrication techniques

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to read and understand written manuals, blueprints and work orders
  • The candidates should have the ability to create written records of work, including recording work done, parts used, and problems encountered

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have training and experience in drive systems, including gearboxes, belts, and chains and training and experience in welding techniques (stick, MIG and TIG)
  • The candidates should have training and experience in grain handling and conveying systems, such as bucket elevators, drag conveyors, and screw conveyors
  • The candidates should have an Interprovincial Millwright ticket and possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • The candidates should have full knowledge of and comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • The candidates should have full knowledge of and comply with related Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work with various maintenance staff, electrical staff, operations staff, and contractors in a team environment
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to overall plant safety by participating in plant safety training and hazard detection
  • The candidates should be able to participate with maintenance team members in an on-call rotation for repairs as required during off-hours
  • The candidates should be able to their work schedule as assigned, with the understanding that regular hours may be adjusted and overtime
  • The candidates should be able to cooperate with other maintenance staff, operations staff, supervisors, management, and outside contractors
  • The candidates should be able to wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment, including harnesses, masks and clothing
  • The candidates should be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and willing and able to work in various conditions, including heat, cold, heights, and confined spaces
  • The candidates should be able to climb ladders, catwalks and scaffolding and willing to learn new procedures and participate in training
