Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of Industrial Mechanic Millwright certification from the college of trades
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to use their hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel while performing job duties
- The candidates should be comfortable standing, walking, climbing stairs & ladders, reaching with hands and arms, and working in awkward situations, including balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
- The candidates should be trained and comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces and frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds
- The candidates should be able to perform work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work around moving mechanical parts and equipment
- The candidates should be familiar with and wear the necessary PPE, including safety boots, reflective clothing, safety glasses, gloves, and hard hat. Additional PPE may be required depending on tasks
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have their interprovincial red seal certification and be skilled in problem solving, and possess strong technical, creative, and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to promote a positive safety culture by performing all work activities according to relevant safety policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors
- The candidates should be able to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- The candidates should be able to install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, conveyors, and more, using hand and power tools
- The candidates should be able to install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as programmable logic controls
- The candidates should be able to assemble machinery and equipment before installation, utilizing hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- The candidates should be able to operate hoisting and lifting devices like cranes, jacks, and mobile equipment to position machinery and parts during installation and repair
- The candidates should be able to operate machine tools such as drills and grinders to fabricate parts during maintenance or setup and inspect machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities or malfunctions
- The candidates should be able to adjust machinery, repair or replace defective parts, and perform routine maintenance tasks like cleaning and lubricating machinery and work collaboratively with other millwrights, electricians, and production workers to complete tasks effectively
- The candidates should be able to participate in plant safety protocols, including performing risk assessments before each job and maintain good housekeeping in job areas and maintenance shops
- The candidates should be able to maintain good attendance, complete scheduled work on time, and provide high-quality performance and provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisors for work improvements and report directly to the Maintenance Supervisors
