Salary: $23.63 hourly for 36 to 48 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation, own vehicle, valid driver’s license, and travel expenses paid by employer
Work setting: Group home, mental health institution, facility, or clinic, social service or charity agency, and community service organization

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Persons with mental health disabilities
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic mail and MS Office 
Credentials: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Mental health first aid Certificate, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and driving record check (abstract)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in personal and social adjustment and health, specifically in addressing substance abuse, gambling, and behavior disorders
  • The candidates should have expertise in addressing socio-economic needs or conditions, including housing, nutrition, unemployment, and financial assistance
  • The candidates should possess attention to detail

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be dedicated to client focus, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility in their approach, exercise good judgment, and be team players
  • The candidates should perform tasks with accuracy, demonstrate interpersonal awareness, and uphold values and ethics

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to obtain information, perform administrative and office activities, and prepare reports or case histories
  • The candidates should be able to assess clients’ needs, implement life skills workshops, and appraise eligibility for specific services
  • The candidates should be able to perform housekeeping activities, provide suicide and crisis intervention, and resolve conflict situations
  • The candidates should be able to supervise activities of clients in group homes, halfway houses, and maintain program statistics for evaluation
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with other social services agencies, health care providers, and accompany clients to appointments and social outings
