Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of current Standard First Aid or CPR C certification from an accredited organization, or the ability to obtain it within 1 month of the date of hire
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be a minimum of 15 years of age

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment P.P.E and High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, or the ability to obtain it within 2 months of the date of hire
  • The candidates should have experience in Hockey, Figure Skating, and Power Skating, or the ability to skate at an advanced level (including Forward Skating, Backward Skating, Turns, Inside or Outside Edges, Stops, Jumps, and Crossovers) and possess exceptional customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan, organize, and deliver high-quality, safe, and stimulating skating lessons for all levels of participants
  • The candidates should be able to keep current with industry trends and new class formats
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and tidy program space, ensuring equipment is set up and stored appropriately and maintain complete vigilance to minimize risk and be ready to respond at all times
  • The candidates should be able to maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be prepared to respond to any emergency situation and ensure all participants are equipped with proper personal protective equipment helmet
  • The candidates should be able to supervise program participants and ensure their safety both on and off the ice and provide a high level of front-line customer service, including greeting and engaging participants
  • The candidates should be able to communicate with participants regarding lesson opportunities and accident prevention and resolve complaints and on-ice issues
  • The candidates should be able to complete administrative duties in a timely manner attendance and incident or accident reports and maintain an understanding of department programs and services
  • The candidates should be able to report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to their immediate supervisor for follow-up and take appropriate action and supervise and mentor volunteers and assistants
  • The candidates should be able to understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies and Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff and attend meetings and trainings
