Salary: $19.00 to $20.00 hourly (to be negotiated) 40 to 55 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: Ellerslie, PE
Shifts: Day, Shift, On Call, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation
Work setting: Commercial aquatic farm

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Area of specialization: Oyster

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp area, in/on water, in outdoors, and in cold/refrigerated area

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be dependable, initiative, flexible, and judgmental
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to write daily basic progress reports, clean and maintain aquaculture enclosures
  • The candidates should be able to transfer stock to tanks in trucks and pack stock in special containers
  • The candidates should be able to transport marine plants to processing plants
  • The candidates should be able to clean, sort and pack shellfish
  • The candidates should be able to grade and weigh aquaculture stocks
