Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Secondary school plus two years’ medical office assistant training
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of two years’ experience in a health care setting is required, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, which are essential to deal with day-to-day activities. Additionally, they should demonstrate good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness
  • The candidates should maintain confidentiality at all times and have a high degree of tact and discretion in handling inquiries and patients, who are often unwell
  • The candidates should have the ability to ask questions to determine the needs of the individual while exercising discretion and good judgment
  • The candidates should be familiar with medical terminology and medical insurance regulations
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member
  • The candidates should have the ability to multitask with constant interruptions while completing tasks with a high degree of accuracy in a very demanding environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to arrange medical and counseling appointments for a large group practice of physicians, psychiatrists, and counselors under the supervision of the Medical Office Administrator
  • The candidates should be able to handle medical inquiries of a personal and confidential nature
  • The candidates should be able to perform patient database maintenance to ensure accurate and up-to-date client demographics and medical insurance information
  • The candidates should be able to provide information on Health & Counseling Services programs and services to patients
  • The candidates should be able to provide backup support in the accounts office as needed
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the development of new administrative processes and procedures
