Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of French and English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a Teacher Education Program diploma or a Bachelor of Education degree and be eligible for a Northwest Territories Teaching Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have Recent JK-12 Physical Education teaching experience
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have intramural and/or recreation program planning experience
- The candidates should be willing to coach or have coaching experience
- The candidates should be able to create a balanced Physical Education Program
- The candidates should possess strong classroom management skills
- The candidates should have experience using data to inform instructional decisions
- The candidates should have awareness of and sensitivity to cultural diversity and heritage
- The candidates should have experience in multi-graded approaches and differentiated instruction strategies
- The candidates should have knowledge of or a commitment to becoming knowledgeable of the prescribed NWT Curricula in Physical Education/related areas
- The candidates should have a proven ability to work with community groups to promote healthy living
