Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to perform other postal clerk duties
  • The candidates should be able to perform a variety of sales/customer service activities to ensure complete customer satisfaction

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a character reference letter and should be willing to undergo pre-employment tests and an interview
  • The candidates should be individuals for whom experience working in a production environment
  • The candidates should be aware that this position may be classified as a Safety Sensitive position and may entail additional requirements under Canada Post’s Substance Use Policy

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate and shuttle corporate vehicles
  • The candidates should be able to operate material handling equipment
  • The candidates should be able to receive and accept mail items
  • The candidates should be able to sort, scan, sequence, and batch mail items
  • The candidates should be able to transfer and load a postal truck
  • The candidates should be able to perform transfers and dispatch parcels and packets
  • The candidates should be able to complete reports and documentation
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a satisfactory safe driving record and the appropriate class of provincial driver’s license during their employment with Canada Post when operating a corporate vehicle
