Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy
Experience: Candidates should have at least 1 year of working experience in an inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation area

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
  • The candidates should have experience providing physiotherapy care in an interdisciplinary team, experience working with Therapy Assistants and demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The candidates should be proficient with computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite programs Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • The candidates should have an active Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Certification by the first day of work
  • The candidates should have at least 1 year of oncology experience pain and symptom management, head and neck cancer care, breast cancer care, CNS cancer care
  • The candidates should have full or partial certification in lymphedema management Vodder, Klose and Norton
  • The candidates should have experience providing virtual care in the last 12 months, Alberta Aids to Daily Living authorizer status, experience working with Therapy Assistants and experience facilitating groups

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in various conditions such as development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness, and functional decline
  • The candidates should be able to deliver a wide range of interventions including prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral, and transition support to individuals, groups, populations, and communities
  • The candidates should be able to include clients and families as integral members of the healthcare team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with patients and families in determining, implementing, and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies
  • The candidates should be able to participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports, and engage in quality improvement initiatives
  • The candidates should be able to partner with healthcare providers, patients, families, and other stakeholders to advance services for clients
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to quality improvement efforts and their professional community through participation in peer mentoring and other initiatives and supervise students, providing mentorship and guidance
  • The candidates should be able to provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists
