Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a three-year advanced diploma in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences or related field of study. Graduate degree considered an asset
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of 3 years of recent work experience as a respiratory therapist in a clinical health care environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be registered with the College of Respiratory Therapy of Ontario (CRTO) and hold a current registration with the CRTO in good standing with no restrictions
  • The candidates should have teaching experience (including preceptorship experience), preferably in a post-secondary setting, which is considered an asset
  • The candidates should demonstrate knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting
  • The candidates should demonstrate knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies, with experience in the development and delivery of hybrid and online curriculum considered an asset
  • The candidates should possess highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to facilitate and guide learning and provide an effective learning environment for all students in the Respiratory Therapy program under the direction of the Chair, Allied Health
  • The candidates should be able to deliver regularly scheduled instruction in the Summer term
  • The candidates should be able to ensure student awareness of course learning outcomes and evaluation techniques
  • The candidates should be able to provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, including educational technologies
  • The candidates should be able to evaluate student progress/achievement and support the overall assessment of the student’s work within assigned courses
  • The candidates should be able to develop and create a learning environment that is conducive to success for all students
  • The candidates should be able to provide guidance to students relative to the teaching assignments
  • The candidates should be able to model the College values – Caring. Learning. Integrity. Respect
