Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a two year college diploma in business administration
Experience: Candidates should have one to two (1–2) years of customer service experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment characterized by changing priorities while attending to details
  • The candidates should be able to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with confidential issues
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting
  • The candidates should be able to take initiative and work proactively with little direction, familiarity with the Vital Statistics Act and Marriage Act

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have or a related field with , preferably in the public sector; equivalent combinations of education and experience
  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to accuracy and detail in a time-sensitive environment
  • The candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate computer proficiency in a variety of programs including Microsoft Office and Electronic Records Management software
  • The candidates should have a passion for promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace and the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a team environment
  • The candidates should demonstrate a commitment to Reconciliation, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity, and Inclusion

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer the Marriage License and Civil Marriage Ceremony Program effectively and in accordance with legislative requirements
  • The candidates should be able to issue Marriage Licences, schedule and conduct civil marriage ceremonies with professionalism and sensitivity
  • The candidates should be able to prepare accurate and timely reports relating to the Marriage License and Civil Marriage Ceremony Program
  • The candidates should be able to assist with issuing burial permits and perform related administrative activities
  • The candidates should be able to respond to in-person, telephone, and email inquiries by providing clear and accurate information about the Marriage License/Civil Marriage Ceremony Program, burial permit issuance, and other divisional services
  • The candidates should be able to assist customers at the counter by serving as the first point of contact in a professional and courteous manner
  • The candidates should be able to provide general administrative support to the division to ensure smooth daily operations
  • The candidates should be able to perform other duties as assigned to support divisional goals and priorities
