Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Degree in computer science
Experience: Candidates should have four years’ progressively responsible experience in Information Technology

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have successfully completed a two-year, post-secondary computer technology or business systems program or possess a Data Analyst designation from an institution, coupled with six years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology
  • The candidates should consider educational and experience equivalences, possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence and provide a current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record
  • The candidates should have skills in using Microsoft Windows and relational databases, be proficient in using client/server and n-tier development tools and methodologies and possess considerable knowledge and skill in the operation and capabilities of computer architectures
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the principles and applications of data-processing documentation and demonstrate knowledge and skill using project management tools and techniques, and the ability to participate in all project roles
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and demonstrate effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, including preparing and conducting presentations
  • The candidates should exhibit customer service skills, including the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with internal and external stakeholders and show proficiency in the use and support of Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBuilder, .Net, and SQL
  • The candidates should demonstrate skill in critical thinking and problem-solving, demonstrate skill in Statistical Analysis, demonstrate skill in Power BI and Office 365 and have knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare proposals and recommendations for management action, support and implement computer-based systems within the Corporation and able to write and modify computer programs using the appropriate development and support tools
  • The candidates should be able to prepare test data to verify the accuracy and completeness of new and modified systems, jobs, and programs and able to prepare and modify system, job, program, and operating documentation according to corporate standards
  • The candidates should be able to respond to, and resolve, system and production failures, perform project roles as assigned and able to maintain current knowledge of IT trends, procedures, and standards
  • The candidates should be able to provide training, advice, and guidance to staff, assist with the development of Corporate IT policies, procedures, standards and perform other related duties as assigned
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the stability and reliability of data access and data quality across the organization via ongoing database support and maintenance, and develop an understanding of a business unit’s key performance indicators (KPIs) and determine what information would be required to calculate them
  • The candidates should be able to explore and investigate data sources to determine which existing data can support defined KPIs and develop reporting models that provide calculation of KPIs across related dimensions
  • The candidates should be able to develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from source systems into a reporting model
