Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or an accredited non-Canadian program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform all physical duties of the position, including lifting and moving for extended periods of time

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
  • The candidates should be active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • The candidates should have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, students in their final year of a recognized Radiation Therapy program are encouraged to appl

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to deliver prescribed radiation treatments to patients following the direction of a Radiation Oncologist
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the efficient, safe, and accurate planning of patient care during simulation and planning procedures
  • The candidates should be able to assess patient reactions to treatment and document treatment plans accordingly maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • The candidates should be able to educate patients about treatment procedures, potential side effects, and management strategies
  • The candidates should be able to make referrals to other health professionals as needed to support patient care
