Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Master’s degree in radiochemistry, organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, or Doctorate level degree or a science related field
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience within the last seven years working with analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC, TLC, Automated Chemistry Modules

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should regularly move or lift objects between 10-50+ lbs., such as shielded radioactive sources and lead bricks
  • The candidates should constantly sit to perform paper/computer work and operation of remote equipment; they should also regularly walk or stand to perform radiopharmaceutical production, cyclotron, and equipment maintenance
  • The candidates should regularly perform fine finger/precision computer work and handle open source radioactivity and radioactive equipment/components requiring steadiness and accurate movement/control
  • The candidates should regularly work in confined/awkward spaces where reaching, bending, and crouching are required to complete maintenance work
  • The candidates should have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves and gowns

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience involved in developing, testing, and validating equipment
  • The candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience within the last seven years working with Radiopharmaceuticals/Radionuclides
  • The candidates should have experience working in a Health Canada GMP facility
  • The candidates should have experience in Microbiology (sterility and pyrogen testing or working with microbials)
  • The candidates should possess strong knowledge of analytical equipment and validation of clinical processes in the use and production of radiopharmaceuticals
  • The candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork skills and should demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • The candidates should have proven analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • The candidates should maintain a satisfactory record of attendance and work performance

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and able to provide operational support to technical and production staff
  • The candidates should be able to optimize and validate radiopharmaceutical production activities and able to plan and execute equipment validations and clinical experiments
  • The candidates should be able to stay updated with advances in radiochemistry and technology and able to adhere to safety regulations related to radioactive materials
  • The candidates should be able to develop and execute validation protocols according to GMP guidelines and able to quantify radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals analytically
  • The candidates should be able to analyze and interpret complex data from experiments and validations and able to apply knowledge of chemistry and nuclear medicine
  • The candidates should be able to develop documentation for experimental and validation activities
  • The candidates should be able to translate documentation into Standard Operating Procedures and Recording Forms
  • The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with established Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a database of equipment used in clinical and research environments
  • The candidates should be able to manage calibrations, preventive maintenance, and validations of equipment
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate activities with certified 3rd party service providers as needed
