Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French or English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess a current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

- The candidates should have the ability to work with clients of diverse cultural and social backgrounds
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have preference will be given to candidates who possess, or are currently pursuing, a B.Sc.N and CNA certification in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing
- The candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop the Nurse-Client therapeutic relationship and work within a collaborative and diverse inter-professional team
- The candidates should demonstrate effective leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- The candidates should have a demonstrated ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the prevention and management of disturbed behavior
- The candidates should have psychiatric nursing experience with individuals with mental illness and addictions
- The candidates should possess computer literacy and Bilingualism (French or English) and proficiency in a second language
- The candidates should have sound knowledge of crisis intervention, psychosocial rehabilitation, severe and persistent mental illness, and Schizophrenia
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to ensure the safety and security of the client care environment
- The candidates should be able to practice in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario professional standards, Canadian Standards for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, the CAMH Practice Model of Care, CAMH Policies and Procedures, and other relevant legislation and regulations
- The candidates should be able to use a primary nursing model to perform ongoing assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate the inter-professional plan of client care for clients with Schizophrenia
- The candidates should be able to liaise with other services in the Complex Care and Recovery Program and community agencies to coordinate care for clients
- The candidates should be able to work with clients from diverse populations, contribute to program development, provide education support and supervision to students, and participate in the research activities of the program
- The candidates should be able to make behavioral observations and assessments, including mental status and physical assessments, and monitor patients’ responses to pharmaceutical and other care interventions
- The candidates should be able to perform ongoing documentation and communication with other team members
- The candidates should be able to strengths to perform assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary client-centered care plans and contribute to a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements
- The candidates should be able to work a 12-hour shift rotation and weekends, located at the Queen Street Site
