Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education: Candidates should have medication administration certification
Experience: Candidates should have psychiatric nursing experience with individuals with mental illness and addictions
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be self-directed team players who are highly organized
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of geriatric psychiatry, crisis intervention, and addiction issues
- The candidates should have registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess a current B.C.L.S. (CPR) and computer literate
- The candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop the Nurse-Client relationship and work within a collaborative and diverse inter-professional team
- The candidates should have strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing, particularly related to the care of older persons with mental health and addiction issues
- The candidates should have demonstrated ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behavior
- The candidates should possess communication and interpersonal skills that enable them to work within an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment
- The candidates should have experience working with individuals from diverse ethno-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- The candidates should be bilingual (French and English) and proficient in a second language
