Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Completion of Grade 12, and the successful completion of an approved Basic Medical Terminology course
Experience: Candidates should have one (1) year of related work experience in an administrative setting of a health care or medical facility

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, as they will be required to communicate effectively with patients and visitors to provide patient-focused customer service in a high-traffic environment with multiple interruptions
  • The candidate should be able to work independently and exercise sound judgment when maintaining patient confidentiality and following NTHSSA and STH policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • The candidates should have the ability to use databases and a switchboard phone system and be able to work in a computerized environment with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, spreadsheets, and email

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform patient registrations and admitting services to patients, families, and visitors to assist them in navigating the appropriate programs and services within Stanton Territorial Hospital
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the accuracy of patient health information by controlling data entry in the Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI)
  • The candidates should be able to collect payments for non-insured services and patient self-pay charges, including obtaining patient or patient’s guardian signatures on financial forms for patients’ out-of-territory and third-party billings, such as Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC)
