Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as earned doctorate degree
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Functional expertise: Policy research and development, Professional or technical accreditation, Program administration or operations management, Public education or information programming, Public relations or communications, Regulation or legislation policy interpretation and implementation
Policy and program experience: Addiction or substance abuse, Behaviour disorders, Disease control, Nutrition, Pharmaceutical use, Physical rehabilitation, Dental health
Research experience: Causal-comparative, Correlational, Experimental or quantitative, Historical research, Qualitative research, Inquiry
Area of work experience: Clinical and diagnostic health, Emergency health care planning, Environmental and occupational health, Government health care insurance administration, Health administration, Health economics, Health funding and resource allocation, Health human resources planning, Health promotion, International public health care, Professional health care education, Public or community health centre
Medical specialization: Epidemiology, Medical social work, Medical sociology, Dentistry

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be able to work in tight deadlines

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to supervise laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists and other professionals, provide advice to senior managers and officials, maintain, update and manage health information databases, perform administrative tasks, compile and analyze statistical information provided by private and public health care institutions and organizations
  • The candidates should be able to produce reports, recruit and hire staff, monitor health care programs, present the views of an association or organization to members, the media and the general public, organize conferences and meetings, produce newsletters, magazines and other documents
  • The candidates should be able to prepare research papers, educational texts or articles, conduct interviews, provide consulting services to government and other organizations, conduct literature reviews, act as liaison within organization between staff and management around wellness issues, design and implement health and wellness projects or programs
  • The candidates should be able to interpret trends and developments on health issues, develop policies, standards and guidelines, co-ordinate workshops
  • The candidates should be able to conduct evaluations and assessments of health projects and programs, co-ordinate multidisciplinary projects
  • The candidates should be able to develop people resources and networks for health information and other wellness issues
  • The candidates should be able to deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia, monitor and compile research results
