Position: RN (registered nurse)

Salary: $45.00 to $49.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 10 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Casual employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, To be determined, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Own vehicle, travel expenses paid by employer, valid driver’s licence, and willing to travel
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely
Supervision: 16-20 people and staff in various areas of responsibility

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Drug addiction, ensure infection control, geriatrics, intensive care, mental health, neurology, nursery, palliative care, pediatrics, and rehabilitation
Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone, computer, and internet access
Credentials: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities
Security and safety: Adult Abuse Registry check, bondable, Child Abuse Registry check, and criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a large workload and meet tight deadlines
• The candidates should be able to work under pressure and demonstrate attention to detail and perform manual dexterity tasks
• The candidates should be able to bend, crouch and kneel and handle physically demanding tasks and stand for extended periods
• The candidates should be able to work while sitting and work overtime and manage multiple responsibilities effectively

Other Requirements:

• The candidate should be accurate, focus on the client, and demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills
• The candidate should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, and be flexible
• The candidate should take initiative, have good judgement, and be organized
• The candidate should be reliable and be a team player

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions and assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions
• The candidates should be able to collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families and conduct disease screening
• The candidates should be able to deliver health education programs and immunization programs and dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
• The candidates should be able to engage in research activities related to nursing and manage home care cases and operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment
• The candidates should be able to provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to the nursing profession and nursing practice and provide nursing care
• The candidates should be able to provide supportive counselling and life skills programming and supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
