Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
Experience: Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in a multiline adjusting work environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have combined with including liability, bodily injury, and property damage claims OR a General Insurance Essentials (GIE) certification combined with at least 10 years of experience
- The candidates should have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) and access to a personal vehicle for business use
- The candidates should possess competencies including customer service orientation, conflict resolution skills, and mediation and provide proof of qualifications
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform comprehensive investigations, negotiations, and settlement of all claims for and against The City, including fire, flood, hail, general liability, automobile accident benefits, multiparty liability, and political exposures
- The candidates should be able to complete onsite investigations, including gathering statements, obtaining and analyzing engineering reports, financial records, and medical reports
- The candidates should be able to ensure 24/7 callout availability to attend accident scenes outside of normal business hours
- The candidates should be able to liaise with the Litigation section on civil matters and attend court as a witness or provide evidence on behalf of The City
- The candidates should be able to attend Judicial Dispute Resolution (JDR) and provide assistance on labour actions
- The candidates should be able to provide training, mentoring, and crossover assistance to Claims Adjusters when dealing with asset and recovery type losses
- The candidates should be able to perform other duties as assigned by the Leader of Claims or the Manager of Risk Management and Claims
