Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience working in a public sector organization and/or a municipal setting

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement custom communications plans, including strategies for issue management, crisis communications, media relations, public engagement, social media, event planning, collateral development, internal communications, promotion, marketing, and advertising
- The candidates should be able to write and develop a variety of communications materials for internal and external audiences, including media briefs, speaking notes, news releases, backgrounders, social media posts, web content, newsletters, email bulletins, brochures, and advertisement copy
- The candidates should be able to ensure that organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and the community, manage collateral development from inception to completion, including scoping, budgeting, researching, concept development, writing, approvals, design, printing, and vendor management
- The candidates should be able to manage resources effectively to ensure that budgets, deadlines, and deliverables are met, proactively manage the organization’s reputation by identifying potential issues and providing advice and solutions
- The candidates should be able to make well-thought-out recommendations to proactively monitor for media stories/issues relevant to the organization and pitch stories aligned with publication interests
- The candidates should be able to coordinate responses to incoming media inquiries, plan and manage media opportunities, and provide on-site media support, identify, advise, and manage opportunities for public engagement with the community, following the organization’s public engagement procedures
- The candidates should be able to provide recommendations and support to clients regarding advertising and marketing opportunities, act as a centre of expertise for media and public relations, providing information, tools, and advice for programs and initiatives, review and edit communications materials for consistency in style, format, readability, and accessibility
