La Rose Bistro based in Hunter River, PE is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Server – food and beverage services. La Rose Bistro is a culinary gem specializing in French-inspired cuisine with a maritime twist. Nestled in a quaint setting, the bistro offers an intimate dining experience where patrons can indulge in a diverse menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Computer and technology knowledge: Point of sale system
Own tools/equipment: Uniform
Credentials: Food and beverage server trade certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Responsible Beverage Service Certificate and Food Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required by the job demands, accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment, managing tasks efficiently and effectively
  • The candidates should be physically fit to handle the demands of the job, which may be physically demanding, and comfortable standing for extended periods during their shifts
  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure, maintaining composure and productivity even in challenging situations, experienced in weight handling, capable of lifting up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) as needed for the role
  • The candidates should be able to work in hot conditions, demonstrating resilience and adaptability to varying work environments

  • The candidates should be focused on client satisfaction, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met effectively, and possess efficient interpersonal skills, enabling them to build rapport and relationships with clients and colleagues
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication skills, conveying information clearly and effectively, and exhibit flexibility, adapting to changing circumstances and requirements in the workplace
  • The candidates should show initiative in their work, taking proactive steps to solve problems and improve processes, and be organized, managing tasks and priorities effectively to meet deadlines and deliverables
  • The candidates should be reliable, consistently meeting commitments and fulfilling responsibilities, and be team players, collaborating with colleagues and contributing to the overall success of the team

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to mix and serve alcoholic beverages and address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • The candidates should be able to present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travelers’ checks, or room billings, and describe menu items, including daily specials, for customers
  • The candidates should be able to enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, advise on menu selections, and balance cash and record sales
  • The candidates should be able to clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs, describe and advise on wine selection, and greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages
  • The candidates should be able to perform sensory evaluation of wines, serve food and beverages, and supervise other servers and bussing staff
  • The candidates should be able to take orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff, train staff, assist clients/guests with special needs, and provide customer service
