Shifts: Day, Weekend, Overtime

Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer, willing to relocate

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Field work location experience:
New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island
Equipment and machinery experience: Shellfish processing machine

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments, be comfortable with odors, and work in dusty, hot, cold/refrigerated, and wet/damp conditions
  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, and be comfortable with physically demanding work
  • The candidates should have manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, and possess hand-eye coordination
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, demonstrate flexibility, exhibit reliability, and be team players

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing
  • The candidates should be able to scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife
  • The candidates should be able to disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing
