Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certification
Experience: Candidates should have proven experience working with children, youth, and adults
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in volleyball, soccer, tennis, hockey, floor hockey, badminton, archery, basketball, or pickleball
- The candidates should have the ability to work with limited supervision and access to reliable transportation
- The candidates should be able to provide a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last 30 days, as a condition of employment if they are new hires or have not performed in this position previously
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to obtain Emergency First Aid with AED/CPR B or Standard First Aid with AED/CPR C certification, coaching certification and competitive playing experience
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to arrive at the program site in time to properly prepare, set up, and start the program according to schedule
- The candidates should be able to follow a lesson plan and provide ongoing evaluation of an individual’s progression
- The candidates should be able to follow the class format and content, ensure the on-site safety of participants
- The candidates should be able to deliver exceptional customer service, including welcoming, conduct, and communication with all participants
- The candidates should be able to conduct program administration, including attendance tracking, registration updates, and incident reports
- The candidates should be able to work cooperatively with other instructors and youth volunteers
- The candidates should be able to notify the Recreation Coordinator/Fitness of any problems and recommendations regarding participants, courts, or facilities that may affect the program, attend staff meetings, perform other duties
