Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience with concepts of personal financial planning and possess strong knowledge of all banking, investment, and credit products, as well as financial services (private client, private banking, advisory, brokerage, etc.)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be certified professionals who have successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course, Professional Financial Planning Course, and continuing education towards the Certified Financial Planner Designation
  • The candidates should prioritize putting our clients first, showcasing existing strong relations with HNW Private Banking clients
  • The candidates should have clearly demonstrated success in the ability to build and maintain client relationships, particularly in the context of Private Banking
  • The candidates should bring their real selves to work, and living our values – trust, teamwork, and accountability
  • They candidates should possess management skills sufficient to build strong relationships with new HNW clients, identify opportunities, and consolidate opportunities

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to effectively manage and grow a portfolio of cash management, lending, and investment products and services
  • The candidates should be able to increase overall profit contribution to CIBC Private Wealth Management through strategic management of the portfolio
  • The candidates should be able to support overall client needs for broader Wealth Advisory services, including Investment, Retirement, and Estate Planning Services
  • The candidates should be responsible for providing comprehensive financial solutions that align with clients’ individual financial goals and objectives
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and industry trends to provide informed advice to clients
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with internal teams and specialists to deliver holistic Wealth Advisory services
  • The candidates should be able to foster strong client relationships through effective communication and personalized financial planning
  • The candidates should be able to be committed to delivering a high standard of service that meets the unique needs of each client within the portfolio
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to CIBC Private Wealth Management’s High Net Worth (HNW) business by building a portfolio of High Net Worth clients
  • The candidates should be able to focus on clients whose needs are primarily banking, credit, and investment-based, including products such as mutual funds, fixed income products, GICs, Imperial Investor Services, PPS, etc.
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the quality of the account portfolio by performing risk assessments and conducting in-depth financial analysis on all potential or existing High Net Worth clients on an ongoing basis
  • The candidates should be able to resolve extremely complex credit issues for clients by working closely with Credit Specialists and Commercial Banking/Capital Markets
  • The candidates should be able to provide specialized services to key High Net Worth markets, such as professional services to partners of major law, accounting, and medical businesses, and offer banking services to High Net Worth clients of Wood Gundy
  • The candidates should be able to review client portfolios and financial needs from a holistic perspective, identifying opportunities to broaden the client’s suite of products and services
  • The candidates should be able to meet regularly with clients to foster strong relationships and identify multi-generational opportunities across cash, credit, investments, and planning
  • The candidates should be able to focus on Business Development, acquiring new clients with sophisticated financial needs, who are people of influence, and/or who require complex global financial solutions
  • The candidates should be able to search for and develop untapped opportunities to promote CIBC Private Wealth Management within the High Net Worth market
  • The candidates should be able to represent CIBC on Boards, participate in charitable organizations, and engage in appropriate social networks
  • The candidates should be able to bring all appropriate PWM advisory offers (Private Banking, trust, Wealth Advisory, and Investment Counsel) to clients, along with other appropriate High Net Worth advisory offers like Wood Gundy, Investment Specialists, and Commercial Banking
  • The candidates should be able to play an active role, and in some cases lead, in large deal teams focusing on High Net Worth clients, especially with introductions from Commercial Banking
  • The candidates should be able to continuously update their knowledge and skills, demonstrating a commitment to staying up-to-date with current events, the overall economic and financial environment, trends, product developments, legislative changes, etc.
  • The candidates should be able to proactively communicate developments or changes to clients of all ages as applicable
  • The candidates should be able to be involved in the community through participation in business and industry associations, aiding in the development of a professional network comprised of the target client segment
