Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualification such as secondary school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Candidates need experience such as demonstrated experience in inventory management or materials management in an industrial environment, or in a related field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have the knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures and all phases of inventory cycle counts and associated activities.
  • The candidate should have the knowledge of standard shipping and receiving practices, warehousing management practices related to storage and issue of spare parts and inventory and also of the standard procurement practices and procedures for the replenishment of inventory items.
  • The candidate should be able to operate a computer and use programs such as Windows, MS Office, MS Excel and also maintain inventory control, parts ordering, receive shipments, and dispose of surplus stock.
  • The candidate should be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and also perform minor preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
  • The candidate should be able to operate motorized material handling equipment
  • The candidate should have Driver’s License and the asked driving skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to report to a more senior level position, the Storekeeper supports mail operations by managing maintenance and operating supplies and also should be able to operate the stores in a safe and hazard-free manner and manage the maintenance and inventory information systems to effectively plan and control materials in conjunction with maintenance activities
  • The candidate should be able to order parts and/or materials required and also ensure and maintain adequate inventory levels
  • The candidate should be able to receive shipments and inspects for damage, quality and quantity and also conduct periodic stock counts to compare actual levels versus system levels
  • The candidate should be able to investigate sources of errors and take corrective action and also prepare goods for shipment
  • The candidate should be able to coordinate with appropriate end users to identify and plan material requirements
  • The candidate should be able to operate Material Handling Equipment (i.e. Forklift) and also store and handle materials using appropriate techniques (i.e. dangerous and hazardous material)
  • The candidate should be able to manage and administer maintenance & inventory information systems as required to ensure accuracy of information, and proper planning and forecasting.
