Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in at least two of the following areas, Five years working in principal Track Maintenance
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the capability to understand and apply relevant track standards and practice circulars
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work safely and maintain a clean safety, performance record
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a minimum of five years of continued progress and a proven record in track work and possess strong people leadership skills
- The candidates should have experience in at least two of the following areas, Five years working in principal Track Maintenance, preferably as a Track Maintenance Foreman, Two years of work in Basic Track Maintenance in a main terminal area, Two years working as a Supervisor or Foreman of a large work crew One or two years as a Machine Operator on various track machines
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to ensure the application of safety practices, policies, and procedures by unionized employees
- The candidates should be able to deliver regulatory compliance for the assigned geographic territory to maintain safe and compliant infrastructure
- The candidates should be able to inspect track at required intervals, maintain proper records, and track corrective actions for identified exceptions
- The candidates should be able to set daily work priorities and objectives while making recommendations to the Roadmaster
- The candidates should be able to ensure that all maintenance work complies with current standards and that track conditions support authorized train speeds or require protective measures
- The candidates should be able to organize and supervise the selective renewal of various track components
- The candidates should be able to provide on-call support and emergency response on a rotating cycle to support 24/7 operations
- The candidates should be able to implement work in a manner consistent with the labor agreement for track maintenance
