Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Experience with special needs children: Autistic children, children with allergies, children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD), and children with learning disabilities

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to work overtime as required, handle physically demanding tasks, and perform repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be able to work under pressure, possess attention to detail, and be able to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should have a client focus, exhibit efficient interpersonal skills, and have excellent oral communication skills
• The candidates should possess excellent written communication skills, be flexible, demonstrate initiative, and have good judgement
• The candidates should be organized, reliable, work well as a team player, and have good time management skills

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and shop for food and household supplies
• The candidates should be able to travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens, and bathe, dress, and feed infants and children
• The candidates should be able to discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, and keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
• The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, organize activities such as games and outings for children, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
• The candidates should be able to prepare infants and children for rest periods, supervise and care for children, take children to and from school and to appointments, and tend to the emotional well-being of children
• The candidates should be able to help children with homework and cook
