Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Area of work experience: Occupational health and safety
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Outlook
Credentials: Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment, showcasing the ability to thrive and maintain efficiency in dynamic work settings, and excel in meeting tight deadlines, showcasing efficient time management skills
  • The candidates should be capable of working under pressure, demonstrating resilience and a calm demeanor in high-stress situations, and possess a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in task execution and deliverables
  • The candidates should have the ability to distinguish between colors, showcasing visual acuity and attention to detail, and be comfortable with tasks that involve sitting, showcasing adaptability to a sedentary work environment

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide information/training to employers, employees, and the general public, inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards, and investigate workplace accidents or illnesses
  • The candidates should be able to initiate enforcement procedures to fine or close an establishment, develop and implement health and safety plans, and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • The candidates should be able to train, direct, and motivate staff, respond to employee questions and complaints, and plan, develop, and implement recruitment strategies
  • The candidates should be able to manage contracts, manage training and development strategies, and establish and implement policies and procedures
  • The candidates should be able to conduct performance reviews, assign, coordinate, and review projects and programs, oversee payroll administration, and oversee the analysis of employee data and information
