Government of Nunavut’s Nunavut Housing Corporation based in Kinngait, NU is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Accommodations clerk. Government of Nunavut’s Nunavut Housing Corporation oversees housing initiatives and programs within the territory. It manages social housing, homeownership assistance, and housing development projects. Through collaboration with communities and stakeholders, the corporation addresses housing needs and promotes housing affordability in Nunavut. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English or French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of high school with additional course work in computer software and general administrative courses
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two (2) years of working in a secretarial and/or administrative position

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the Property Management Officer and able to assist in administering the staff housing portfolio of leased and owned residential staff housing properties located in the District
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate information, projects, and maintenance management between various stakeholders such as the Nunavut Housing Corporation (NHC) offices, other Government of Nunavut (GN) departments, Local Housing Organization’s (LHO), private landlords, and tenants
  • The candidates should be able to assist the Property Management Officer with coordinating the allocation of Staff Housing units to individuals
  • The candidates should be able to provide reporting and administrative support for the staff housing portfolio
  • The candidates should be able to record any problems or complaints that tenants, landlords, or agents may have and work with the Property Management Officer to find solutions to these issues
  • The candidates should be able to receive notifications from LHO’s on unit orders, maintenance management, tenant allocations, and walkouts
  • The candidates should be able to ensure accurate tenant data and property inventories are maintained

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get Northern Allowance of $24,192.00 per year
