Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed Grade 12
Experience: Candidates should have 2 years’ diversified data entry experience including general office procedures and customer service

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge in modern office practices, procedures, equipment and social programs and should have experience in registration systems, such as APEX and RAMS (Intelli)
  • The candidates should demonstrate knowledge of City of Edmonton cash handling and FOIP (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy) policies, practices, procedures and Government issued documents such as Notice of Assessment, Refugee Status, and Income Support
  • The candidates should have a proven ability to use complex Google applications
  • The candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to learn new processes and procedures, as well as effectively lead, manage, and coach others on processes, projects, and tasks
  • The candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication, data management/filing, organization, multitasking, collaboration, time management, customer service, prioritization skills, strong accounting and statistical skills
  • The candidates should be aware that hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton policy
  • The candidates should demonstrate service excellence, embracing diversity, and promoting inclusiveness
  • The candidates should demonstrate alignment with the Cultural Commitments of Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated, and Excellent, fostering an environment for others to do the same

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to receive, sort, review, and process applications and forms for admissions programs via mail and in person
  • The candidates should be able to ensure applications are completed with the correct information and have the required documentation
  • The candidates should be able to complete follow-ups via phone, email, or letters with clients and/or staff to obtain completeness and notify of denied or approved applications and to create, file, update, monitor, and archive documents
  • The candidates should be able to register or administer clients into programs and able to mentor new staff
  • The candidates should be able to respond to general inquiries regarding programs, complaints and disputes, from clients and staff via phone, email, and in-person, and escalate to supervisor
  • The candidates should be able to provide presentations, workshops, meetings, and fairs within the organization and with clients and also provide support to supervisor on various program projects
  • The candidates should be able to update information such as applications/forms, brochures, guides, posters, and websites
  • The candidates should be able to complete monthly, quarterly, and annual auditing and reporting of processes in accordance with the City Cash Handling Handbook policies
  • The candidates should be able to create more efficient tools for team and individual use for process improvement
