Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be available to work nights, evenings, days, weekends, and holidays
  • The candidates should have the ability to pass and obtain an airside vehicle operator’s permit and possess a restricted radio operator’s permit (aviation)
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations, as per Transport Canada regulations

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed a recognized apprenticeship program and have at least two years of industry-related experience
  • The candidates should possess a Transport Canada AME-E license, possess a valid driver’s license
  • The candidates should be able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, physical assessment, and security check
  • The candidates should meet Air Canada’s medical standards for safety-critical work, including passing a medical evaluation, drug and alcohol test, and remaining free of intoxicating substances
  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of an employment offer and be responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or authorizations

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to use the correct tools, methods, techniques, and equipment required to perform aircraft maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools
  • The candidates should be able to work effectively as “team players” with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, high-stress environment
  • The candidates should be able to work independently, utilizing resources via phone and computer, self-motivated and confident in their abilities
