Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have graduated from a Transport Canada-approved school in the Structural Program
Experience: Candidates should have experience on aircraft in Sheet Metal and Composite work

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be available to work days, evenings, or nights, including weekends and holidays, be highly flexible and adaptable and effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • The candidates should be motivated and enthusiastic team players, work with minimal supervision, endorsements on Air Canada aircraft types
  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of any job offer and be responsible for obtaining any required work permits/visas
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations as required by Transport Canada

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a Transport Canada (MOT) Structures “S” license or be working towards obtaining one
  • The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license, excellent communication skills,  strong planning and organizational skills
  • The candidates should be able to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and handle and prioritize multiple projects

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform aircraft structural repairs and modifications based on engineering specifications, manuals, or drawings, carry out and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on aircraft components, plan, coordinate, and execute work efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to perform required inspections, evaluations, and maintenance releases (MRs), resolve material, tooling, and engineering issues affecting maintenance plans, estimate and define planned repairs
  • The candidates should be able to provide technical job direction and mentoring to Aircraft Technicians (ATs) and other Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs), coordinate and supervise maintenance personnel to optimize production flow, sign maintenance releases (MR) for non-licensed personnel and those not directly allocated to the work group
  • The candidates should be able to conduct general visual inspections (GVI), detailed visual inspections (DVI), conformity inspections, and required inspection items (RII), sign off defects according to defined standards and provide oversight on defect management
  • The candidates should be able to complete and verify all technical records and data entries for work performed, ensure compliance with airworthiness (AW) and safety policies, processes, and standards, mentor, train, and coach maintenance personnel
  • The candidates should be able to provide detailed work hand-off information to Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) and the next shift personnel, ensure a safe and organized workplace
  • The candidates should be able to read and interpret Structural Repair Manuals, obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator Permit and perform other related duties
