Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)’s Corporate Secretariat Service Department manages governance and corporate affairs for largest annual fair. It ensure regulatory compliance, oversee board relations, and implement strategic governance initiatives. Its role is pivotal in maintaining the CNE’s operational integrity and prestigious status within the market. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in business writing emails, letters and draft communications
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be available to work flexible hours, late evenings, and weekends, and be available for all 18 days of the Ex (August 16th – September 2nd)
- The candidates should be willing to work in areas that may contain bright lights, loud noises, and crowds of people and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- The candidates should be organized with great attention to detail and ability to perform basic lifting requirements
- The candidates should have the ability to work independently or as part of a team and meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong multitasking skills
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have event experience, possess a valid driver’s license or related education, volunteer, or work experience
- The candidates should be comfortable communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including government officials
- The candidates should have some knowledge of politics or government or any political experience, which would be helpful
- The candidates should have hospitality or customer service experience, which would be helpful
- The candidates should have great interpersonal skills, an energetic, confident, and professional demeanor, proficient in Microsoft Office and previous experience working with a Contact Management Database
- The candidates should aim to further develop leadership skills, demonstrate organizational and time management skills, pay attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to take initiative
- The candidates should aim to further develop both verbal and written communication skills, aim to further develop technological skills and demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide miscellaneous support, including assisting the larger CNE staff team, CNEA, and corporate entertainment events (receptions, dinners and BBQs and assist with paperwork, filing, phone calls, database updates, and other administrative duties and support CNEA Board & Committees or other meetings
- The candidates should be able to provide support for the CNE Association (CNEA) Members Exhibit Booth, including greeting participating Members, directing them to the booth, ensuring setup, maintenance, and dismantle of the area surrounding the booth, supporting Members during their Exhibit booth day, and participating in showcasing CNEA at the booth
- The candidates should be able to act as a delivery service, dropping off items across the grounds and off-site and assist the CNEA President and other Executives as required throughout the fair, accompanying them to events in their schedules
- The candidates should be able to support the development and delivery of various events, including tracking event responses (RSVPs), following up on event responses, and managing event logistics such as setup, execution, and clean-up and support the participation and event tours of elected or government officials
- The candidates should be able to support the Corporate Secretariat to help meet the overall goals and objectives of the department and the association during the fair and support interaction between various stakeholders and CNE staff at corporate hospitality events
- The candidates should be able to coordinate meetings and assist with drafting letters, briefs, invitations, and correspondence to stakeholders, including government officials
- The candidates should be able to conduct follow-up calls with government officials upon request and liaise with other CNE departments and elected or government officials’ offices and provide support to the office of the CEO
