Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have post-secondary education in public administration, business, emergency management, disaster management or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and extensive experience
Experience: Candidates should have Extensive experience in Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Risk Management, Disaster Recovery or a related field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates must be able to work overtime as required
- The candidates must be able to travel throughout the Province of Manitoba with possible overnight stays, as required
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience with supervision, including mentoring, coaching, and leading diverse teams
- The candidates should have experience managing projects, including creating work plans, coordinating work, and monitoring progress using project and change management principles and practices
- The candidates should have experience conducting research and analysis for policy/project development, implementation, and recommendation of strategies and policies on cross-departmental matters for various stakeholders
- The candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience making decisions independently that involve a high degree of risk
- The candidates should have the ability to interpret and apply acts, regulations, and policies, must be legally entitled to work in Canada and possess and maintain a full Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s license
- The candidates should have excellent written communication skills, including the ability to research, analyze, summarize, and provide recommendations to senior management
- The candidates should have strong verbal communication skills to effectively communicate formally and informally with internal and external stakeholders
- The candidates should possess strong political acumen for navigating sensitive and confidential issues with tact and diplomacy
- The candidates should have highly developed interpersonal skills for building and maintaining positive working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to report to the Manager, Business Development and work as a member of the Manitoba Emergency Management Organization, Preparedness and Response Branch
- The candidates should be able to oversee the development, implementation, and oversight of a provincial business continuity management program
- The candidates should be able to develop a comprehensive business continuity management program across the Government of Manitoba and develop adequate training, tools, and guiding documents relating to business continuity
- The candidates should be able to recommend, implement, and manage improvements and innovations for the provincial business continuity management program
- The candidates should be able to work collaboratively with multi-levels of government/agencies and multi-disciplinary teams
