Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Grade 10 or equivalent
Experience: Candidates should have over 6 months, up to and including 1 year experience performing cleaning in an office environment and operating heavy duty cleaning equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work variable scheduled shifts
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on customer service
  • The candidates should have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide quality customer service for all customers, tenants, and end-users of Corporate properties
  • The candidates should be able to provide indoor housekeeping activities specific to each location, including vacuuming, dusting, polishing, dry and wet mopping/spray buffing
  • The candidates should be able to collect recycling materials and garbage from desk/area recycling bins, replace bags, and dispose of them as directed
  • The candidates should be able to provide disinfection and sanitizing services to all washrooms, lobbies, and public counters. Clean/inspect all washrooms, empty garbage, disinfect sinks, toilets, replace washroom supplies, wash walls, mirrors, and unclog toilets. Clean windows, doors, and other glass surfaces
  • The candidates should be able to provide immediate outdoor maintenance services, including litter picking, graffiti removal, gum removal, cigarette butt disposal, waste container cleaning and emptying, snow removal, and sanding and salting of walkways. Also, at the POA location, the underground garage is spot-swept daily
  • The candidates should be able to provide scheduled specialty cleaning services as required and operate associated equipment, including steam or shampoo carpets as required; clean elevators and elevator tracks, vacuum, wash, or shampoo chairs and dividers; operate Scrubbing Machine to scrub floors and buffing machine to strip and wax floors; dust ceilings, air diffusers, and return air grills as needed
  • The candidates should be able to set up and take down tables and chairs for meeting rooms/functions, move furniture as requested
  • The candidates should be able to assist in case of an emergency or fire and must be familiar with the fire alarm and intrusion alarm systems
  • The candidates should be able to provide minor maintenance monitoring and reporting, be knowledgeable about the building program and users, identify maintenance or health and safety issues or concerns, and ensure they are communicated and resolved
  • The candidates should be able to provide minor maintenance monitoring and reporting services such as vandalism, vagrancy, unlocked areas and caretakers sign in and out building keys for night-time contractors, secure the building, and activate the intrusion alarm
  • The candidates should be able to maintain all caretaking equipment and tools to ensure health and safety on the job and report any damages or malfunctioning equipment or tools immediately to the supervisor
  • The candidates should be able to assist the building operator and perform additional similar and related duties
