Salary: $16.00 hourly for 30 to 48 hours per week

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Equipment and machinery experience: Fish cleaning and cutting machine
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a noisy environment, an environment with odours, and cold/refrigerated conditions
- The candidates should be able to work in a wet/damp environment and outdoors
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads, be physically capable of demanding tasks, and have manual dexterity
- The candidates should have attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and weight handling capabilities
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication and display reliability
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing, scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife, and condition fish fillets for wrapping or freezing
- The candidates should be able to check products and packaging for defects, ensure conformance to company standards, and perform corrective machine adjustments as required, as well as record production information
- The candidates should be able to set up and operate machines to can, bag, box, or otherwise package fish and seafood products, and to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate, or otherwise process fish or seafood products
- The candidates should be able to weigh fish or shellfish, record weight, and pack fish in ice, as well as clean machines and immediate work areas
- The candidates should be able to sort fish according to species, weight, and destination
