Donair Grill based in Calgary, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Cook. Donair Grill has been serving authentic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. Shawarma, Donair and Falafel are not just our specialties, but or trademarks. Our food is prepared with the highest quality ingredients, and the freshest meat. Spiced to perfection, marinated right, and topped with our signature sauces, our food hits the taste buds hard. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The position of cook is approved by LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment).

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Cuisine specialties: Mediterranean cuisine

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp area, noisy area, odours, outdoors, hot area, dusty area, and cold/refrigerated area

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be dependable, organized, initiative, flexible, and reliable

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef, inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • The candidates should be able to plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
  • The candidates should be able to train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, order supplies and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to supervise kitchen staff and helpers, clean kitchen and work areas
  • The candidates should be able to maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to organize and manage buffets and banquets, manage kitchen operations
