Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, such as Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have work experience in drawings and using CADD, Microstation, SolidWorks, or similar software

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess OACETT or P.Eng certification, be familiar with TTC CADD standards, a sound knowledge of mathematical principles related to geometry and trigonometry
  • The candidates should have practical knowledge of drafting and design principles, concepts, and procedures applicable to trackwork engineering
  • The candidates should be proficient in the use of Bentley Microstation, ProjectWise, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, and related software applications
  • The candidates should have proven analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills, possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The candidates should have or be able to rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders, including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare and revise detailed engineering drawings, including component, assembly, location plan, and layout drawings
  • The candidates should be able to maintain, scan, print, and plot drawing records to ensure accurate documentation
  • The candidates should be able to track, prepare, and maintain a database of Inventory Requests and part stock code numbers
  • The candidates should be able to review Public Utility Coordinating Committee (PUCC) submissions to ensure proper clearances and track support are maintained
  • The candidates should be able to work outside standard hours, including afternoons, nights, or weekends, for track-level surveys or inspections of track parts
  • The candidates should be able to treat passengers and employees with respect and dignity while ensuring accessibility needs are met as per the Ontario Human Rights Code
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program to enhance the customer experience
