Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Kinesiology, or one of the allied health or rehabilitation sciences
Experience: Candidates should have three to five years of progressive experience in all aspects of absence disability claims management and return-to-work principles in a unionized environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be detail-oriented and possess exceptional customer service skills, demonstrate initiative, and show accountability
  • The candidates should be adaptable to change and able to work autonomously in an exciting, fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability and interest in working within a diverse team and in an environment that values diversity and equity
  • The candidates should contribute positively to a cross-functional team environment and work collaboratively when issues arise
  • The candidates should have an understanding of the healthcare environment and a solid knowledge of mental health and addiction issues

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have strong knowledge of insurance policy interpretation and Human Rights legislation
  • The candidates should preferably certification as a Disability Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Return to Work Coordinator (CRTW)
  • The candidates should have strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail and possess strong interpersonal skills in facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • The candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • The candidates should have experience with Occupational Health software Cority and bilingualism in French and English or proficiency in a second language

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to serve as the Subject-Matter-Expert for questions and assistance related to employee extended absences
  • The candidates should be able to partner with CAMH’s third-party insurer to manage activity throughout the claim life cycle and facilitate the return-to-work process while coordinating the medical accommodation process
  • The candidates should be able to creatively implement and evaluate return-to-work strategies, including modified work programs or permanent accommodation arrangements
  • The candidates should be able to prepare metrics and absence reports, identify trends, and share insights with internal stakeholders on leaves and absences
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with HR business partners to plan and implement new procedures, monitor their outcomes, ensure compliance, and address ongoing training
  • The candidates should be able to liaise and work collaboratively with department leadership to ensure process consistency across the organization and identify areas for improving employee experiences and partnership efficiencies
  • The candidates should be able to process claims efficiently while complying with disability legislation, CAMH policies, and collective agreements
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to the implementation of disability case management processes within a collaborative and supportive team of occupational health and safety professionals
  • The candidates should be able to work in partnership with members of the People and Experience portfolio, fostering collaboration and integration with the HR team
  • The candidates should be able to support and contribute to a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements
