Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education, or equivalent courses or certifications, related to the fundamental practices of real property functions and facility management
Experience: Candidates should have extensive work experience in property and facility management

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable sector search
  • The candidates must provide and maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check
  • The candidates must provide and maintain a satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess strong leadership skills, with work experience coaching, mentoring, and supervising a large team
  • The candidates should have experience performing various human resource activities such as performance management and attendance management, as well as addressing and mitigating conflicts and have experience interpreting, communicating, and applying acts, policies, regulations, and risk assessment strategies
  • The candidates should exhibit strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to discuss matters with parties of differing backgrounds and interests, paired with developed political acumen and demonstrate strong strategic planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritized tasks with competing deadlines
  • The candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated by the ability to establish trust, as well as to develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and have demonstrated written communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence for politically sensitive matters
  • The candidates should have financial management experience, such as preparing and/or maintaining budgets and cash flows
  • The candidates should have proven critical thinking and decision-making skills. Experience in interpreting legislation such as The Residential Tenancy Act, municipal by-laws, and/or collective agreements is preferred
  • The candidates must possess and maintain a valid Full Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to be responsible for the overall planning, delivery, and administration of property management functions within an assigned District of the Social Housing portfolio
  • The candidates should be able to provide supervision, direction, and support to staff and lead the overall delivery and administration of property management functions within an assigned District of the Social Housing portfolio
  • The candidates should be able to request and coordinate the delivery of maintenance and minor capital within an assigned District of the Social Housing portfolio
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the coordination of tenant support services within that jurisdiction
  • The candidates should be able to balance the complex priorities of vulnerable clients with government and numerous department policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate strong mental and emotional resilience in dealing with Manitoba’s most vulnerable and diverse tenant base
